Caroline Horgan's entrepreneurial journey is one of resilience, innovation, and unshakable determination.
From taking over Abbeylands Furniture to becoming the All-Star Inspirational Business Person of the Year 2023, Horgan has transformed her family business into a successful soft furnishings wholesaler that employs over 35 people.
On International Women's Day, Horgan shared her insights on the AIBF Business Talk podcast with Elaine Carroll.
She stresses the importance of researching the market, understanding the business philosophy, communicating effectively with staff and customers, and seeking better solutions to overcome challenges.
Horgan's journey can be compared to that of a skilled sailor navigating uncharted waters. With astute decision-making, careful planning, and the courage to take calculated risks, she charted her course to success.
Today, Scatter Box operates from a 40,000 square foot manufacturing facility that allows them to produce and supply a signature collection of soft furnishings, cushions, throws, rugs and wall art, designed and made with love in Ireland.
With a creative in house design team, a large production, manufacturing and warehouse facility, the very latest in design and interior trends are exclusively produced, stocked and supplied on demand to homeware retailers throughout Ireland, UK and internationally.
They also make bespoke soft furnishings for hotel and leisure contractors in Ireland and private label for renowned multi retailers.
Horgan encourages entrepreneurs to have faith in their capabilities, as perseverance and determination can lead to success. Her advice is invaluable for anyone seeking to navigate the unpredictable currents of entrepreneurship.
Caroline's enormous contribution to trade and commerce in Ireland has been recognised with the Business All-Star Inspirational Business Person of The Year 2023 Accreditation.
